Coloured Contact Lenses
There are three main types of coloured contact lenses:
Enhancer lenses are most suitable for light-coloured eyes. They can be used to highlight the natural eye colour or add a subtle difference (for example, from light blue to greenish). It's not possible to change a dark eye colour to light with this lens type.
Opaque lenses are suitable for more drastic changes and for brown eyes. These lenses are often manufactured using dot matrix technique (see picture) to emulate the appearance of the human eye and achieve a more natural look.
"Crazy" lenses, or halloween lenses, cover the eye with a special image, such as a star, dollar sign, smiley, or cat eye.
Pros/Cons
Many possibilities to change eye appearance - Available as daily and monthly lenses
- Also available for 20/20 eyesight
- Opaque lenses can sometimes slide over the pupil, blocking vision
