After the 65% mark the pace picked up way more so the end piqued my interest to see what happens next, but I’m not biting at the bit to read more. In addition to the strange fascination with war, Elise is portrayed as being somehow better than her fellow Timorans for believing that Ettans should be equal. This series will be 9-10 books with four different couples, but characters will be interconnected throughout the entire series.

I really struggled to envision how the world looked as it read as a country at times or as a small city in others. While it had issues, it could have been a relatively pleasant read for the most part - it had an interesting premise and for the majority of the book there was good chemistry between the two main characters before issues with pacing arose. My last peeve with the writing was the fact that all the other characters could be referred to by their first name ALONE. Following her adventures really resonated with me, for I believe most will feel like her about marriage.In true Game of Thrones fashion, the potential for character building and plot and world building was there. It’s just that I wonder how much of my feelings about it are influenced by its similarity to a series I’m crazy about.
