The short chapters made it a quick read but unfortunately I cannot think of one positive thing to say.

Who could she possibly have upset enough to deserve being held in captivity, as a prisoner for days, weeks, and possibly even months? It isn’t until the couple is away in Thailand for their honeymoon that Paris begins to dole out the first bites of something sour in the relationship. and although there are certain aspects of this that are positives for me personally, im just not sure the overall story/characters/writing is effective enough to create a super compelling story. The author tried (too hard) to be twisty but it just ends up all over the place and becomes one big, awful mess. However, the second half of the book won me over, as the pace increases significantly due to the shorter chapters, and the answers I needed were discovered. To make things worse, there is a stark absence of descriptive imagery, the characterisation is gossamer-thin and I've seen more twists on a runway.

Millie had been dancing when no one else was, pretending to have a partner, until Jack came to the rescue. The Prisoner, while exciting at first, was really predictable and didn't really offer me anything unique or surprising. The tale follows a woman whose dream husband suddenly becomes her worst nightmare immediately following their wedding day.The Bookish Elf is a site you can rely on for book reviews, author interviews, book recommendations, and all things books.
