And the part of the story no one tells is that when your family treats you like a villain, it is far too easy to become one. As heir to a title and great wealth, Will Masterson should have stayed home and tended his responsibilities. I enjoyed getting to know James and Blackbeard, and the pirate adventures and magical lands they find themselves in were creative and fun.

However, so far this series, even though it's still Disney and not that deep, kept on surprising me. I strongly recommend that Never Never be read as part of the series and not simply as a standalone novel. Still, if it wasn’t going to get into anything too dark or complex, it could’ve had a little more excitement or something.The series books were definitely more interesting in the beginning than they have been with the past few.

I have read all of Serena Valentino’s stories and “Never, Never” truly is at home with this villians series.While I have enjoyed all the Villains novels to date, this one gave me the greatest angst and discomfort in knowing what becomes of Captain James Hook and how desperate his beginnings were. I think that's what we might see in the next book - Circe grappling with the idea of destroying her mothers. On the surface, she is an Arendellian village girl, an aspiring inventor, and the best friend of Prince Agnarr, but she is also secretly Northuldra. I feel like Serena would have had to map out all the villains’ tales’ way ahead of time to tie them together so smoothly.
