Zombie Kidz Evolution is aimed at children, and I wouldn’t recommend playing it with just grownups. Don’t get me wrong, I have enjoyed playing the majority of rounds with my boys. All three of my boys have played it without me too. The turn phase and objective is simple enough for my six year old to fathom. A minor downside personally is this is a four player game and there is five of us, so we either need to partner up or someone needs to find something else to do.

Last Night on Earth's tactical combat, multiple scenarios and hero survival has been replicated many times over the decade-plus since its release (including by some of the games on this list), but what keeps it shelf-worthy is its endearingly self-aware theme that focuses on cheesy fun over brains.I’d never played a legacy game before ripping the shrink wrap off Zombie Kidz Evolution. For those that aren’t aware a legacy game is one which changes as you play. They are generally not replayable as the game evolves quite dramatically over the course of the game. Despite being a popular mechanic, legacy game offerings are scarce on the market. Gamer Network Limited, Gateway House, 28 The Quadrant, Richmond, Surrey, TW9 1DN, United Kingdom, registered under company number 03882481. If a horde reaches a building, that building is overrun and the zombies build a trampoline. They can use this trampoline to overrun the next building if they move again before you defeat them.

In Zombie Kidz Evolution (2018), you fought to rid your school of the roaming zombie teachers and bar the gates. Zombie Teenz Evolution (2020) continues the story: The school is your safe base but your town is still in danger of being run over by zombies. You have to find the antidote! You start out easy The legacy element of Zombie Kidz Evolution is very well done. The rules changes and zombie evolutions fit right in, building up the complexity of the game, along with the challenge. What starts out as a straight-forward puzzle gets challenging and more varied through-out the games. As the zombies can move now, the threat is constantly changing. A horde may have spawned in a space next to your hero, but by the time it’s your turn, it could have moved and now be both out of your reach and closer to the buildings. The addition of the Event Cards increases the threat even further. New heroes and powers are introduced to give you more resources, new types of zombies and Event Cards make sure that the stakes are constantly raised. Throughout each game you'll be making tough decisions, like whether or not you have the food supplies to take on additional survivors, or choosing to mercy kill one of your own infected characters before they start a chain reaction that wipes out your entire colony.

The player can move their character to an adjacent board space (if a board space contains 3 or more zombies, they cannot move there)City of Horror Beg your friends to let you live, then leave them to die In City of Horror, your friends can be just as deadly as the undead. Despite its small size, the fun components really help sell the theme. Equipping a little plastic chainsaw on your meeple before heading out to hunt some zeds is always fun, and who can resist placing their meeple in the little wooden police car before crashing into the hardware store? Tiny Epic Zombies isn't only one of the best Tiny Epic games, it also keeps up with its bigger siblings on this list. Zombie Kidz Evoluution is a great introductory legacy game. The low price means that it offsets the legacy elements slightly more than if the price were double or triple the RRP. For the price the components are great and the box is travel sized with slots in the plastic inlay that hold everything securely. The initial puzzle of the game is very beginner friendly, the colors are bright and the color-coded dice means that play is fast no matter the age level or experience of the players. The legacy elements keep the game interesting and build up the complexity slowly to allow the players to learn the rules in stages while increasing the challenge as they become more comfortable with the gameplay.

Zombie Teenz Evolution Review | Board Game Quest Zombie Teenz Evolution Review | Board Game Quest

This is a Collecting and Traversal game with Race, Role-Play and Sequencing elements. You can play with 2 to 4 players in the same room. There's a two-player side to the board to adjust the challenge for two. It's really best played with three or four players though. The rule book is well laid out in simple statements and with several pictures to illustrate them. Most components are of smooth, good quality cardboard of a decent size. Including the clones in the game added another level of strategy because while your clone is active you’re able to move it as a second piece on your turn. The downside is that you lose the use of your special ability. And because clones are added to and removed from the board when you roll a white face on the die, there were plenty of times when you were actually disappointed to roll a white. Final Thoughts: Zombie Kidz Evolution Stole My Heart (and Both Kidneys) While the dice rolls are entirely random, the strategy lies in determining when to stop rolling and enjoy the brains you have. Dice come in three different levels of danger; holding onto a red die is practically begging for a shotgun blast to the face. If you accumulate three shotgun blasts before stopping, you have been sufficiently triple-tapped into oblivion. Don't get too greedy, we all want some piece of mind.

This is a must have for board gaming families and well suited for young gamers. Being a co-operative game, it removes the awkwardness of Dad always winning and walking away with the monopoly money while everyone storms off to the separate corners of the house to sulk, and instead replaces it with excitement and high-fives as you complete another level, open another envelope, and begin a new mission. The first envelope, opened on step 5 gives one of the heroes a power, but also speeds up zombie arrivals. The third envelope is where things get interesting, as one of the zombie types upgrades, which brings a real challenge to the players. There are spoilers in the next image gallery, so we've made the images slightly smaller than normal if you wish to skip past them.
