About this deal

K. Mr Majeika is a wizard, sent to "Britland" from the planet Walpurgis because he failed his O-level sorcery exam for the seventeenth time. All of the characters are unique in their own way: Melanie always cries, Pandora Green and Hamish are bullies and Thomas and Pete are just normal children and so is Jody. More amazing adventures with Mr Majeika, the ex-wizard, turned teacher, and his class at St Barty's School.

This was a very light-hearted book to read, I would recommend this for KS1 as the story line, although nicely written is very simple in content. As well as the Mr Majeika titles, his children's books also included Shakespeare Without the Boring Bits and More Shakespeare Without the Boring Bits. The kids love them so much that they are begging me to continue reading even when the bell goes for lunch. He arrives through the classroom window on a magic carpet which the children at the time are in disbelief of.This is particularly because of its ‘superhero’ feel like nature and magical element that children feel that they can relate to and would definitely recommend it. He loved the magic in a school setting, and what Mr Majeika's class had to do to help their teacher put right some spells he needed help reversing.

However, he is no ordinary man, as is apparent when he flies into Class Three's boring lesson on a magic carpet, which he then turns into a bicycle, confounding the headmaster: Mr Majeika is a wizard! This is possibly due to ongoing rights issues after the production company, TVS, dropped out of the ITV network in 1992 and subsequently went through a number of take-overs.Mr Majeika is a wizard, sent to "Britland" from the planet Walpurgis because he failed his O-level sorcery exam for the seventeenth time. And to everyone's delight it looks as if Hamish will have to remain a frog because Mr Majeika can't remember the spell to turn him back again! Humphrey Carpenter (1946-2005), the author and creator of Mr Majeika, was born and educated in Oxford. Mr Majeika gets angry a lot with Hamish Bigmore in his first year of being a teacher at St Barty's Primary School after being a wizard for many years.

Their doubts that Mr Majeika is not all he seems are confirmed when he turns an egg and bacon flan into chips, and they are told that Mr Majeika was not a teacher before he came to St. The 103 third parties who use cookies on this service do so for their purposes of displaying and measuring personalized ads, generating audience insights, and developing and improving products.Majeika is an irrepressible wizard sent to "Britland" from the planet Walpurgis because he failed his O-level sorcery exam for the seventeenth time. There are further numerous situations where magic is used within the book, but from a readers perspective it is clear that the character of Mr Majeika is not making these situation occur intentionally but rather they are just out of his control. He thereafter astounds them with magical trickery which bring lessons to life, whether it is providing chips during dinner for all the children, or turning the nasty Hamish Bigmore into a frog for his insolence. This time there's a trip down a magic river, a battle to save St Barty's from the wrecking ball, and work experience for Class Three. Class 2 enjoyed this amusing story of a teacher with magic powers and the come-uppance of an unpleasant class mate; so it was a popular book.

The pupils in Class 3 at St Barty's School are not impressed when their headteacher imposes strict rules of behaviour for Halloween. Read all Mr Majeika is a wizard, sent to "Britland" from the planet Walpurgis because he failed his O-level sorcery exam for the seventeenth time. As a rule, magic carpets don't turn up in schools, but this is exactly what happens when Class Three's new teacher flies in through the classroom window and lands on the floor with a bump. Within this creepy hotel some very spooky things starts to happen and immediately captures the reader’s attention. When Mr Majeika is hurt in an accident it becomes clear that Uncle Wilf is working for the wickedest of witches, Wilhelmina Warlock! To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. With Mr Majeika in charge, suddenly life at school become much more exciting - there's even a magic-carpet ride to Buckingham Palace! Undoubtedly the mixture of mystery and humour that catches the reader’s attention along with the well detailed illustrations of the main characters and important events is what makes this book so good. My favourite chapters were the ones where Mr Potter struggled to comprehend the impossible feats before his very eyes.
