Billy Ray Cyrus’ signature Country hit ‘Achy Breaky Heart’ is included, plus Billy Joel, who recorded Elvis Presley’s ‘All Shook Up’ for the film 'Honeymoon In Vegas'. Finance is provided by PayPal Credit (a trading name of PayPal UK Ltd, Whittaker House, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW9 1EH).

Hawkins and the collaboration between Patty Smyth and Don Henley provided massive radio-friendly soft Rock – and Chris Rea and Elton John each released a timeless and sophisticated ballad, before great vocals from Des’ree, Julia Fordham and Lisa Stansfield sign off the disc. NOW Music is proud to present the next instalment in our ongoing ‘Yearbook’ series – and our first to celebrate the ‘90s, NOW – Yearbook 1992; 43 tracks from a brilliant year in Pop!Alternative’ Pop from Manic Street Preachers, Simple Minds, Paul Weller and Tears For Fears complete side one – whilst the flip side salutes the dancefloor: Dance-Pop filled the charts in 1992, and this side explodes into action with worldwide hits ‘Rhythm Is A Dancer’ from SNAP! There’s a bit of a ‘Noah’s Ark’ thing going on with two tracks from Annie Lennox (‘Precious’, ‘Cold’), a couple from Crowded House (‘It’s Only Natural, Four Seasons in One Day’), a pair from Kylie Minogue (‘Finer Feelings’ and ‘What Kind of Fool? s biggest seller in both the UK and the US opens the final disc: ‘I Will Always Love You’ from Whitney Houston, followed by huge hits from Vanessa Williams and Lionel Richie, before second tracks on this collection from Kylie Minogue and Take That – with their first Top 10 single ‘It Only Takes A Minute’. Classic late ‘70s songs ‘Baker Street’ and ‘Please Don’t Go’ were re-made as huge Dance hits – and floor-fillers from CeCe Peniston, Kym Sims, Dina Carroll and Paula Abdul are all featured. Licensing issues can work for you occasionally, presuming that’s what has prevented Red Said Fred’s ‘Deeply Dippy’ being included on this compilation.

The usual formats apply: 4CD deluxe version in hardcover book with track annotations and quiz, 3LP coloured (green) vinyl and the cheaper 4CD in card sleeve. This is another great compilation from Now Yearbook but all the Special Edition covers seem to be damaged. Certain items can take longer to source than the estimated week, particularly during busy trading periods and may take longer to arrive at our warehouse. That was one of only 13 chart-toppers in Britain in 1992 and a creditable nine are included in Yearbook ’92. It’s definitely presented as a transition/turning point of a year in music, plenty of 80s artists still around (Bon Jovi, Simple Minds), the beginnings of Britpop (Suede, The Manics), the rise of boybands (Take That, East 17) and the Eurodance sound that would go on to dominate the next few years (Snap! The same disc includes Mr Big’s international hit ‘To Be With You’, Richard Marx’s ‘Hazard’ and Sophie B Hawkins’ exclamatory ‘Damn, I Wish I Was Your Lover’. The diversity of genres contributing to the year’s Pop is reflected with tracks from East 17, MC Hammer, Kris Kross, Bananarama, and Roxette – before a closing run, including Go West, Crowded House and Simply Red – who, with ‘Stars’ had the year’s biggest selling album.
