Things don't work out as planned and he and his sister Esara and friend Zerina which is also accused of being a witch and has also lost her two sisters. Apart from the main cast there were some notable side characters but unfortunately most of the side characters felt like replaceable cannon fodder without distinct personalities. Plus like many people have said Michela Schulthies voice work definitely falls short alongside Aaron Smith's. The story revolves around two characters who initially have separate stories but eventually come together.

While the plot had potential, there wasn't enough substance to keep me guessing throughout my listen. The ending was a bit of a surprise, and too rushed but definitely has me intrigued and happy to read on in the series.
