You can use it as a full on foundation and you can also vary coverage—sheer it out for a lighter look or layer it if you need more coverage. In this case, mica is coated with one or more metal oxides (most commonly titanium dioxide) to achieve pearl effect via the physical phenomenon known as interference. It only protects against UVB and not UVA rays (the 320-400 nm range) – so always choose products that contain other sunscreens too. The black opal site describes this foundation as a broad spectrum full coverage; long-wear foundation.

A mineral powder used to improve skin feel, increase product slip, give the product some light-reflecting properties, enhance skin adhesion or serve as an anti-caking agent. However now that I'm working on trying to finish it I've realized what I love it for and dislike it for. Sunscreen) Ingredients: Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Cetyl Dimethicone, Silica, Beeswax (Cera Alba), Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax (Candelilla Cera), Nylon-12, Propylene Glycol Laurate, Paraffin, Octyldodecyl Neopentanoate, Octyldodecanol, Microcrystalline Wax (Cera Microcristallina), Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Tocopherol, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Cetyl Palmitate, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, BHT, Caprylyl Glycol May Contain (+/-): Mica, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499).Even if it can be converted, the palmitate part of the molecule is more than the half of it, so the efficacy will not be good and we have never seen a serum that contains a decent (and proudly disclosed) amount of AP.

I’ve been meaning to pick up two BB foundation sticks, but only to use for highlighting and contouring. Firstly, it's stability is only similar to that of pure ascorbic acid (AA), which means it is not really stable. The shade range they have isn’t bad, cause they have a variety of colour choices, you all would agree that having a variety of shades to choose from is really important in 2018. A great study in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology compared a bunch of vitamin C derivatives and this derivative was the only one where the study said in terms of stability that it's "similar to AA". Since the foundation is creamy it is emollient enough for dry skin and the absence of fragrance and parabens makes it safe if your skin is more sensitive.

p style="margin-bottom: 1rem;" class="dmws-plus-review-text">The foundation stick is really useful when on travel also it gives you a natural look, that i absolutely love! Second, a study that examined the skin absorption of vitamin C found that ascorbyl palmitate did not increase the skin levels of AA.

This does not mean that ascorbyl palmitate cannot penetrate the skin (because it can, it's oil soluble and the skin likes to absorb oil soluble things) but this means that it's questionable if ascorbyl palmitate can be converted into pure Vit C in the skin.

I’ve seen so many people rave about stick foundations in general so I was super excited to try out this specific one. The longevity is fair, with my primer it lasts close to 8hours and without my primer let’s say 4hours (y’all know I have really oily skin.A bit of a sloppy ingredient name as it covers not one but three pigments: red, yellow and black iron oxide.
