The Happy Nappy by Splash About is the most important part of a baby swim kit and insisted upon by most swim schools before your baby can join classes. This nappy is designed by experts and loved by swim schools, it is the only reusable swim nappy you will need to go swimming with your little ones whilst also ensuring a leak free and safe experience! Splash About also offers a range of toddler sunsuits and baby swimming costumes with a built in Happy Nappy, these are perfect for easy changing when swimming and have UPF50 so are ideal for sun protection on beach days too. The Happy Nappy can be used on its own but for complete confidence and ease of cleaning up 'little accidents', use with the inner wrap (described below). We used this every week in our sons swim lessons and at the weekends at our local leisure centre splash pad.

That’s why all water babies, baby or toddler, must wear our Double Layer Nappy System at their swim classes, which means a swim under nappy (preferably reusable 🍃) with an approved neoprene Happy Nappy or Jammers over the top. I think that this would be fantastic for kids that have just been potty trained as it makes them feel like they don’t have a nappy on but still protects if they do have an accident in the pool.

If I have one complaint it is that it can be a bit of a job to get it on a wiggly baby, however this is also the aspect that prevents leaks! Alternatively you can still use a disposable swim nappy underneath the Happy Nappy however we would encourage you to avoid the use of disposable swim nappies as they can absorb too much water from the swimming pool plus have environmental and financial impacts.My main complaints are that the Happy Nappy System is fiddly to put on and that it doesn’t protect from the sun as much as an all in one-suit, so you’re left doing your best to smear on sunscreen.

Unfortunately most places still ask for a disposable underneath regardless so most of our swim sessions we did put disposables on as well. Thankfully it's containment ability hasn't been tested yet, but I'm confident it will perform when inevitably it eventually will be.
