Description

So when we were asked to try out the Hot Wires Electronics Set from John Adams we were delighted to give it a go. However, blocking some types of cookies may impact your experience of the site and the services we are able to offer. The favourite experiment the kids have completed so far is experiment 3 where they power a spinning disc causing it to fly up in the air.

Simply follow the full colour step by step instructions to become your very own resident electronics wizard. The magnification isn’t huge at x40 but this is plenty to make everyday objects way more interesting. The experiments are very good and the children love my teenager creating and showing of electronics. But one set of lessons I did get excited about – before they started – were the pre-recorded electronics lessons on the Oak National Academy. If you want to help further your children’s education at home that goes beyond phonics, reading and maths then Hot Wires is the perfect set to encourage their scientific learning.

The components feel tough and durable, and are not flimsy so will stand up to being snapped together and unsnapped for a long time. Over time, we have spent a small fortune on various microscopes that didn’t quite fit the bill…until we found this one. Disclosure: I received this item for free for the purposes of writing an honest and impartial review. The use of Japanese technology in making the product gives it better performance after storage, high temperatures, and discharge.Things from around the house such as old spoons, empty plastic bottles, balloons, squeezy bottles etc. This has certainly reinforced and built upon the work Harrison has been doing in year 4, and crucially he’s now having fun doing this work. No safety issues and all the pieces are sturdy enough to hold up to being misaligned or misconceived on occasion.
