seconds of deafening silence as Luca and Aria just kept staring at one another is still ringing so loudly in my ears, it's almost scary. The image is embedded in my head and so vivid that I can't help wondering why it sends me straight into the orbit of Mars whenever I randomly remember about it? I can’t deny you something that you don’t have the right to take in the first place. My body doesn’t belong to you. It’s mine.” The strong start it had completely vanished and turned into pure smut, and sadly not even sexy smut. Aria was young and naive. And stupid. God was she stupid. She constantly acted like a kid and was made meek. This is why I don't tend to read mafia books. Women are made meek. They're made weak and gutless. I get that she does't have a choice but does she have to do everything so willingly?! The times that she had a right to be pissed and lash out, she would decide to reign in her anger! And I can't stand for that. I'm having a difficult time rating this because while I really liked and enjoyed this one way more than the first, I honestly think a 3 star rating is way too high for this book.

And for him thinking Val cheated......jerk? Yes. But do I hate him? Maybe a little. Again I understand how he felt because he is a mob boss and sometimes its people whose near you that hurts and break you the most. Will Valentina have to through another mariage being neglected and second best? Will Dante finally open up to her and leave the past behind?I actually hate reviewing books where I'm not sure what to rate. Those are always the hardest. While there were moments I enjoyed, there where also things that didn't bode well with me, so I'm at a standstill.

As much as I'm dragging Dante, he wasn't half as bad. I liked him better than Luca, but it's just hard to connect to someone who is constantly described as an "cold fish" and has one face expression (on a good day maybe two). Aria is only fifteen years-old when she is told that she has been promised to marry Luca. At twenty years-old, and with reputation as a cold-blooded killer, marriage to Luca is a terrifying future for Aria to behold. Seemingly overnight her world is turned upside down, as she becomes the property of a man she only knows enough of to fear. Her anxiety and fear only seems to grow during the three years she spends finishing high school and counting down the days until her life as she's known it comes to an end. Some romance authors do indeed write way more eloquently and inventively, managing to dish out sensible plots and credible characters, yet most of them waffle too much plunging their readers into a deep slumber. <3 And then there's Cora that writes trashy content that people consistently look down on but whenever a new release comes out, they're the first one to jump on the bandwagon. 🤡 CUTE. For over a week I’ve been totally immersed in, and absolutely obsessed with, this warring Mafia world of dangerous alphas and their layered lives. With their family dynamics, with the various threats, with their protective natures, loyalties and customs, with their arranged marriages and with the brutal challenges when the Chicago Outfit, the New York Famiglia and the Las Vegas Cammora simmer, spill blood, torture and go to war. They are all layered dark love stories with emotional push n pulls, friction, fireworks, sexcapades and character growth as Capos and Made Men bend for the women they’ve each struggled and fought their attraction to. Their Blood Oath forever binds them to the Mafia brotherhood above all else.. but the right woman will get inside their walls, make them human, make them fall in love and they will become more cherished than even their Oaths. His treatment of her safety is my major no. The cheating was still an issue but I did not realize he himself was unsafe in his sex practice. NOT ME TRYING TO FEEL THE VOID OF BEING A SINGLE CHILD WITH CORA REILLY'S MAFIA BOOKS. SJSJSJSJSJSJ. 🤡 That bitch Cora really hyped up the institute of sisterhood and brotherhood for me. Apparently I've been robbed by my own parents. 👺 Yeah, it's true that he loved his first wife, but that sad admission at the end explained so much for me!

Many of Shakespeare’s works examine the duty children and younger generations within a family owe their parents, or the older generation—in Hamlet, King Lear, and The Merchant of Venice, for example, Shakespeare interrogates filial duty, familial honor, and the difficulties of seeing a parent’s will through. In Romeo and Juliet, however, Shakespeare turns this interrogation on its head. While a child’s honor-bound duty to his or her parent is complex, to say the least, in the world of Hamlet and King Lear, in Romeo and Juliet, it is portrayed outrightly as an absurd, punitive, and even cruel demand. Romeo and Juliet are bound to honor their families’ hatred of one another—when each learns who the other is after falling in love at a party at the Capulets’ home, they are crestfallen to realize that they are enemies by default. Of course, Romeo and Juliet are not, as individuals, each other’s enemies—but the codes of honor their parents have thrust upon them demand that they hate one another simply out of duty. As Romeo and Juliet secretly conspire to shirk that duty, surrender to their love for each other, and marry in great haste, Shakespeare points out the ridiculousness of feuds and grudges like the one between the Capulets and Montagues—ancient resentments whose root cause no one alive can even remember. Shakespeare shows that it is the very fact that Romeo and Juliet’s love is forbidden which spurs their passion—as young teenagers, they long to get in trouble and defy their families, and marrying one another is the ultimate transgression against their parents’ wills. This story has some very old traditions and of course the young virgin bride who is hesitant about giving her body to her husband. It must be mentioned that friends that have a hard limit at cheating may find issues with Luca sleeping with the woman he was sleeping with before his marriage after they are married but haven’t consummated their marriage. Once marriage is consummated there isn’t any cheating. So I didn’t have a huge issue with that and I liked how the couple slowly explores their sexual relationship and how their marriage takes on a new light. And what do these girls of all day? Aerobics, their nails, groom poodles. Because of their mafia wife status and over protective males, they are strapped into their apartments.

Gianna was every bit the bitchy, pain in the ass, unlikable heroine I imagined she would be, and I hated her through the ENTIRE story. And I never did finally come to like her. AT ALL. Ya ni diré de la historia de amor porque aquí no hubo amor al menos no de parte de ella, todo se resumió a sexo. The plot is really interesting as Valentina’s secrets from her former marriage are revealed and she is allowed to work in one of the family owned casinos. She also takes her best friend position to Bibi to the max… go girls! Gianna Scuderi isn’t going down like her obedient sister. She has no plans on marrying a Made Man and will stop at nothing to get away from her family and her sealed fate. Gianna is hardheaded, stubborn, snarky, proud and a complete pain in the ASS! Still, Matteo Vitiello has been taken with her from the day he met her and has asked for her hand in marriage from her father and there’s nothing she can do about it.
