Dark Terry's Chocolate Orange: For a dark coloured, glossy and intensely flavoured chocolate ganache use the dark version of chocolate orange. There are five Terrys Segsations flavours, over time they do change the variety and colour of the wrappers though, but the ones I’m eating at the moment contain:

The chocolate ganache is a total breeze too. I know the phrase ganache might be off-putting for some of you but it is so easy. The cake will last for 3-4 days in an airtight container in a cool place. You can freeze both the cake and the buttercream. To freeze them separately, wrap the cake well in cling film or put it in an airtight container. The buttercream can be frozen in a sealed tub. To freeze the cake decorated (I don't recommend freezing the orange zest decoration), freeze on a plate until frozen solid, then carefully wrap in cling film. Remove the clingfilm when you take the cake out of the freezer to defrost, as if it defrosts with it still on it could damage the appearance of the buttercream. Can you make this cake with plain/all purpose flour? By now your ganache should have been in the fridge for 30 minutes or so. It will be stiffer and a better consistency for using as the cake layer filling. Use good quality cocoa powder. Cocoa powder is NOT the same as hot chocolate. To get cocoa powder, go to the baking section in your supermarket. If you're a fan of the delicious combination that is chocolate and orange, or you're wondering what to make with some Terry's Chocolate Orange, this collection of tasty chocolate orange recipes will give you lots of ideas and inspiration! There's everything here from easy no bake treats to showstopping cakes. There is a chocolate orange recipe for every occassion! Using a spoon, transfer around a quarter of the chocolate ganache on to the cake on the turntable. Use a palette knife to spread it around. Don't worry if some of the filling drips down the side of the cake. YELLOW Segsations are Exploding Candy – Terry’s Milk Chocolate Orange with exploding candy bits embedded inside. This isn’t like the Space Dust I used to enjoy in the 1970s, it doesn’t really “explode” in the mouth at all in my opinion. In fact, if I hadn’t known they were popping candy I’d have never been able to guess; they simply seemed, to me, to be chocolate orange pieces with “something indiscernible” in the chocolate.

When the ganache has melted and thinned (it will look much like it did when you first made it) you can pour it over the top of your cakes. Use a palette knife or spatula to spread it evenly over the top and sides of the cake. Watch my step by step video in the recipe card below to see how I cover my cake with the ganache. The company opened the Art Deco-style factory known as Terry's Chocolate Works [5] [6] in 1926, and began launching new products. [7] These included the Dessert Chocolate Apple (1926), Terry's All Gold (1931) and the Chocolate Orange (1932). [8] Rich and indulgent Terry's chocolate orange tiffin stuffed with Terry's chocolate orange, crushed biscuits, white chocolate chips, and topped with Terry's chocolate orange mini segments! You can also make the ganache in advance. Leave it to cool then refrigerate for up to one week. Bring the ganache to room temperature before use.

Crush the digestive biscuits by placing them in a plastic bag and bashing them with a rolling pin. I like a few larger pieces of biscuit left in my tiffin, so don't go mad!

Chocolate Orange bar: a bar of six segments, initially produced with smooth vertical segments (similar to a Toblerone bar), then, later, with textured segments that mimic those of the traditional orange shape. For teaspoon (tsp) and tablespoon (tbsp) measurements, please use measuring spoons* and not the type of spoons you eat with. Again this will ensure accuracy and provide the best results.Spread the mixture out into the tin and bake the cake for 25-30 minutes or until a thin skewer inserted in the centre comes out clean. Each Segsation segment has a word or short phrase written on the chocolate – and, looking through them, I really can’t see the point. Examples of the words are: Big hug, Let’s tango, Let’s play, Hello sunshine, Chatterbox, Big kiss, Kiss kiss, Wink, wink, Outrageous, Taste me, Yummy, Yum, One more?, Delight me, You’re beautiful, You’re fab, Wahey, Giggles, Yee ha, Love me, You want me, Go bonkers, Do the twist.
