About this deal

If you’re aiming for a larger frame with a lower resolution, then Carver Luxe is the option for you. the touch bar on top is handy but a touch screen may have been nicer and allowed for more usability.

Photo Arrangement. This may be a user error, but as far as I can tell - the frame decides how photos are arranged on the screen based on some criteria. My guess is a combination of resolution and orientation. Either way, nearly all pictures I tested with appear split-screen and unrelated. This makes for less of a picture frame viewing experience and more of a slide show kind of experience. The frame itself is also not that impressive, it’s a modern look which some may like but I would’ve preferred maybe a wood veneer option. The frame is just hard plastic but to be fair you don’t really focus on it at all as the photo/screen quality is excellent and always the focal point. This frame also has the ability to play sound and videos which is somewhat interesting, although videos seem to play at around 10fps. When you’re looking for premium quality digital frames, Aura Mason Luxe and Carver Luxe will always be in the conversation. In our time with the Meural, we found its matte display a genuinely appealing way to display art: it doesn’t look like a repurposed tablet or smart display. However, its color depth isn’t perfect and we think a panel sharper than the Meural’s 1080p screen would be better if you want to really inspect your images. Still, it’s a lovely way to creatively enhance a room. The first time I used the device, it took a little longer than expected to have photos available on Digital Frame; however, it is not taking that long anymore. The fixed stand setup means you can’t adjust the display angle from its default upward tilt. While this will be an issue if you want to place the frame on a higher shelf, the viewing angles are otherwise good, with decent saturation and plenty of brightness – provided you’re fine with a reflective panel. The frame stands in landscape only, with no portrait display option. Instead, it displays portrait photos side by side.

After getting one of these for a grandparent for their birthday, my wife had to have one! This is probably the easiest wifi sharing frame/app that I have had experience with. I have some friends who have different ones and after setting this up, I think this is the most simple and the features are very functional and easy. The display itself is a 10" inch screen. The pictures are displayed very well. The frame changes pictures every 10 minutes or so but you can manually change the picture on the screen or from your IOS device. I ran into three problems in setup. First, it took over a half an hour and multiple attempts to get the app to find the device, even though I was right next to it. Second, once it did find it, I couldn't connect the frame to my WiFi. I found that the frame only supports 2.4 GHz WiFi protocols. My Eero Pro router is 5.0 GHz. Third, even when I put my Eero Pro in 2.4GHz Legacy Mode, the frame would not connect. To add to Aura’s problems, they don’t support USBs or SD cards. Many competing digital picture frames like the Pix-Star offer extensive USB/SD card support, letting you use any USB or SD card size, insert it into the frame, and play slideshows directly. This gives you unlimited offline storage and full control over which files and folders to include in slideshows. The Aura Mason Luxe maintains its popularity because of its amazing colors and exceptional resolution. The quality of this frame far outperforms almost every other option on the market.I am an amateur photographer who wants to display some of my best work. I thought having the new Aura - Carver Luxe 10.1'' LCD Wi-Fi Digital Frame would be a great way to display them. So, you shouldn’t rely on Mason Luxe if you’re planning on keeping the frame in landscape orientation. In that case, Carver Luxe is the better choice, and there is no point in choosing Mason Luxe.

You will get the same control, the same audio features, the same sharing options, and almost the same design. So, you won’t realize any unique features by going with one unit over the other. While you can find digital photo frames with screens as small as 5 inches, we think the smallest you should realistically look at is 8 inches. A frame such as the Nixplay Nix Digital Photo Frame 8-inch benefits from a small footprint that’s easy to place almost anywhere, while still giving your images enough room on screen to be clearly visible. Any smaller and you risk having to squint to see your snaps. One of our favorite things about this frame is how straightforward it is to load photos using the app. You can create playlists using photos from your smartphone, or sync with Google Photos to display AI-generated smart albums. You can also connect with friends to easily add their snaps to your frame. Lag does make the touchscreen interface feel clunky. You’ll also need to pay for the frame’s full capabilities, although most users will be fine with the 10GB of cloud storage and five ‘playlists’ you can create with a free account. It’s auto switch-off abilities aren’t hidden behind a paywall, either: an activity sensor can snooze the display when no-one’s around, making this is a frame that can run by itself. For example, Pix-Star’s mobile app (Pix-Star Snap) lets you send up to 250 photos to several Pix-Star frames at the same time. You can send 2-minute video clips and audio recordings right from your phone from anywhere in the world. The app itself also allows you some customization for a photo, you can rotate the photo (but still displayed landscape) or crop/center to adjust what’s in frame. While the Aura Carver Luxe digital photo frame is great, it’s certainly not the best. Aura frames are popular for their high display resolution and free cloud storage. They have a decent mobile app and cloud-only digital frames.

It sounds easy, but be aware that it might take a little long to connect through Bluetooth as it happened to me (I was about to give up at some point). Fortunately, with a little patience, all was promptly configured. Screen size can vary substantially, from 8 to 13 inches. Frames with smaller displays can be easier to place and are sometimes sharper. Larger options offer more space for your snaps but won’t always have a higher resolution. The sweet spot is usually somewhere around a 9-inch Full HD display. It’s a key reason why we recommend digital frames with internal storage, extensive USB and SD card support, and a plug & play feature. We don’t recommend cloud-only digital frames like Skylight and Aura. The Aura Carver Luxe digital picture frame cannot store any pictures locally on the frame as it does not have internal storage. To counter this loss, Aura offers unlimited cloud storage for all of your photos. Here you can store 10,000+ photos directly in the cloud. The Aura Carver Luxe Digital Photo Frame is a perfect device to share your memories with your loved ones and your loved ones to share memories with you. It works like this, if you own the device, you can share it with your friends and family by extending invitations, upon accepting them, they can add pictures which then will show up on your Digital Photo Frame at home (!). You will get notifications that they added pictures and can decide which ones stay or not; although I would say you’d usually trust the judgement of the people you shared the device with (anyways, you’ll have full control of the device and can remove their pictures if desired).
