Of course it would be nice if the EQ-200 took on a few more of the EQ2's extended features - but it really does not need them to be the major viable pedal here - while the EQ2 sort of does need those extra bells and whistles to overcome the inherent clunkiness of selecting everything via single rotary encoder!
