About this deal

Nate has a series of casual sexual encounters with girls whom he meets at parties. He stops after he and Bronwyn become friends. He and Bronwyn have romantic feelings for each other and kiss. They break up after Nate is released from jail. Bronwyn briefly dates and kisses another boy, but eventually she and Nate reunite. Third, STOP TREATING SUICIDE LIKE A MYSTERY TO BE SOLVED. It's a mental illness, not sensational entertainment!

First, depression is villanized because Simon is portrayed as a terrorist. His main motivation was wanting the infamy of a school shooter. He wanted to cause the same amount of damage, but in a way he deemed better. Problem: Depression does not equal being a terrorist! Mental illness being portrayed as wrong and evil is such a tired depiction. Although the book is cleverly written with lots of witty dialogues, the alternating first person inner monologues among the three narrators are relatively indistinguishable. The book also features cameo appearances from characters of the previous book. They are not directly involved with the plot of this book. Thus, making this installment more of a spin off rather than a sequel. I listened to the audiobook and was pleased that it had different narrators for each of the main characters. Mind you this book is so very predictable I figured and saw every twist coming until the very end and I am not lying...no I am not lying !! My heart is literally beating so fast from this thrill and mystery and feels fulfilled with something heavy called satisfaction. I haven't been so content and had screamy feels over a thriller since Dangerous Girls, which was 213324 decades ago.Add in the fact that this cast is similar to the stereotypical cast of characters found in The Breakfast Club, one of the best movies EVER created, and you have an equation for a near perfect book for Megs! Beyond all of that... honestly, the writing is just not that good, and the "twist" is so predictable it hurts. The ending: Horrible. The last quarter was so bad, and just ruined the entire book. I'm just going to pretend it never happened.

I really really don't want to say goodbye to Bayview and I hope we might get another spin-off. *fingers crossed* romance: I thought it was tolerable, but instead of being a sub plot, it had a big focus on it and I feel as if it may have taken away from the actual story. Why did I end up caring about this romance more than the main conflict?? Though the way things played out with the romance, I didn't like (see summary). Addie the dependent insecure pimpled barbie doll who ends up being a feminist heroine....no way...yes way...no way...yes wayMy personal favorite was Addy - I truly had a soft spot for her! Her individual storyline and development is something so important. I was rooting for her the whole way through and was cheering her on at every step of the way. I'm sure that they are people reading this book who are in the same situation as her, and I really, really hope that their eyes might be opened with the help of Addy's portrayal. I was EXTREMELY excited for this sequel. I loved, loved, LOVED One of Us is Lying, and I enjoyed her follow-up mystery/thriller, Two Can Keep a Secret. And then one day an anonymous text appears on students’ phones, initiating a game of truth or dare. A student will be chosen, they’ll have a fixed amount of time to decide between truth or dare, and if they fail to answer the question or complete the dare, a painful truth will be revealed about them—to the entire school. Some students want to report this to the principal immediately, but others worry that might lead to everyone's phones getting confiscated again. And the mystery, where is it? I felt like it was too obvious. There was absolutely no subtlety. When I read a mystery book, I want the plot twist to actually be a twist. Is that too much to ask for? The characters in this book were really well-done - each one was completely distinct and truly memorable.
