Description

Many scenes in the book lend themselves to exploration through dramatic reconstruction, or even just freeze-framing. You can’t taste a star beam; you see it – the effect is achieved by mixing sensory experiences, and it takes a great deal of imagination. The entire story is told through poetry – poetry of various types that seamlessly flow into each other.

It also considers issues such as allergies and could help children to recognise the seriousness of allergies and also raise awareness on what to do if someone suffers from a reaction, as I feel there will always be at least one child in a school who may require an epi-pen.In the alternative activity, children are invited to take part in a whole-class discussion about conformity. An easy-to-follow plan, a set of slides for the teaching input, differentiated activity ideas and printable resources are all included in this ready-to-teach Cloud Busting KS2 lesson pack. won the Young Telegraph/Gimme 5 Award - Malorie is the only author to have won this award twice - while Hacker also won the WH Smith Mind-Boggling Books Award in 1994. Sam wants the old Davey back, until one day Davey moves away for good and Sam is left feeling like the odd one out. As a class, children will read chapters 20-26 of 'Cloud Busting' by Malorie Blackman, and then discuss the questions on the slides about the outcome of the boys' friendship.

We build and maintain all our own systems, but we don’t charge for access, sell user information, or run ads. They will analyse both how and why Sam and Davey change throughout the book, and link this to the themes of bullying, friendship and conformity. As the theme of the books is bullying and friendship it would also provide relevant discussions of the topic. I would love to read this to a class of children and see what their thoughts and feelings are on the different characters and the storyline. The story in the book was ok but not as interesting or exciting as some of the other books that I have read as part of the reading challenge. Sam is still embarrassed to be seen with Davey, but little by little, he has to admit, when it's just the two of them, Davey is a lot of fun.
