It’s been great to visit the Design Museum today and to see the World Cup poster for Qatar 2022 and meet the artist. I feel like I represent every Qatari and every Arab, to be able to work on a World Cup project still seems surreal, I hope I can represent my country in the best way possible.

The inspiration behind Bouthayna’s creative expression is the concept of collective memory, born through thousands of years of Qatari heritage – borrowing elements from folklore and the oral history of Qatar and readapting them to reflect her relationship with her land’s past. Silhouettes of animals and flowers from the host country of that year's FIFA World Cup formed a pair of legs that dispute a ball.
The event was organised to celebrate the creativity and cultural significance of the artwork which was designed by Qatari female artist Bouthayna Al Muftah.Surrealism in Spain could not be presented by anyone other than Joan Miró, who let out all his creative genius attached to his favorite trend in the official poster that gave the world the FIFA World Cup Spain 1982. Qatar is a wonderful blend of history, traditions and modernity, and played host to the first FIFA World Cup™ ever in the Arab world. Meanwhile, reigning champions France will be optimistic when having to face Denmark, Tunisia and one of Peru, Australia or the UAE in their group. The fifth and final episode of La’eeb™ from Mascot-verse sees our hero join the Hall of Fame in a homecoming to rival champions Argentina!
