The range starts off at €149 for the entry-level TX308 going through to €269 for the TX 315. In anyone’s book that represents superb value and without a doubt makes the range very accessible. As I am sure many here are aware, Alto has updated its popular TS2 series to the TS3 series. While they had a TS208, there was little information around on that size, with most attention on the TS210 and TS212. I participate in a weekly worship service at a local nursing home. Our old Peavy amp quit working and I didn't think it would be worth looking into getting fixed. I asked Jonathan Appleton for his advice about using a powered mixer with our existing speakers. He understood that we couldn't spend any more of the church's money than we absolutely had to, and he recommended using a powered speaker with a good inexpensive mixer. He recommended this speaker and an appropriate mixer and we couldn't be more pleased with both the price and the performance of the speaker. We haven't been using it long, but we can definitely reach all the way throughout a medium sized dining room and probably a lot further. I can't imagine a better solution at any cost. The TX series are a great affordable first set of of Active PA speakers and are available in 3 different speaker sizes to handle a range from 50 people to around 250. If you have a bit more budget to spend, the Truesonic TS series offers a step up in build quality, power and professional features.

On the rear panel is the usual IEC power inlet and power switch, XLR audio input, and an XLR link output for feeding the input signal to another active speaker. There are no EQ settings or mixing facilities, but you can plug a dynamic microphone directly into the speaker’s input. There are roughly three pricing areas when it comes to the se typ e of speakers. The pricing is really based on what market segment they're targeted at and the features and capabilities that appeal to those segments. Is there that significant a difference? And - if I really wanted I could run a mixed signal (git'r & mic) into the one input (I can do this coming out of my TC Helicon Harmony GT X). So I'm satisfied with it - sound-wise and function-wise... BUT: I got this to serve as the monitor for my solo git'r/singing setup (main PA is a Bose L1 Compact). So it didn't need to have the multi-input/mixer section. As it is, it simply has a single input and level control.

Tapping on the case reveals some panel resonances, which is not uncommon with moulded speaker enclosures, and this is most likely a contributing factor to the lower‑midrange sound coloration I heard when playing full‑range material through the TX310. I got the impression that the speaker had been voiced to give a good account of the low end and to deliver a crisp treble, but at the expense of some midrange clarity. Some low‑mid cut centred around 200Hz cleaned this up to a useful degree, especially in a vocal PA setting, as it helped tame some of that unwanted boxiness. There’s also a useful amount of mic gain if you plug a mic directly into the XLR input, which is always good to know for those ‘broken mixer’ emergencies or for basic announcement work, though there’s no opportunity to add EQ or effects if you work that way. That means your audience will hear all the important details - no matter where they're stood. The TX308 makes precision a priority.
